After mysterious posters popped up in London last week and drove speculation, nu metal titans Slipknot have revealed a run of dates across North and South America next year. The tour kicks off with one massive night at Wembley Stadium next July, but the support for the London date is proving to be controversial – main warm-up act Marilyn Manson’s inclusion after years facing prolific sexual assault allegations is already leading to boycotts for the event.
US masked metal act Slipknot have had a year of ups and downs in 2026: with the July news that the group were parting ways with DJ Sid Wilson who had been in the collective since 1998 followed by the high of their first independent single release earlier in September. The band opened their own label (Sic)est Records with track ‘Arsenal’, a confusing anthem of sorts which harkened back to their 2000s style with frontman Corey Taylor’s trademark style of screamed and rapped vocals.
After mysterious posters with Slipknot’s iconic ‘tribal S’ logo cropped up in London, as well as cities like New York and Los Angeles, there were expectations of big album or tour news soon. Today, they announced the (Sic)est Stadium Tour, opening in London on July 3, their only European show of 2027, before a roadshow in North and South America. The run in the Americas is backed up by an ensemble of metal’s biggest names, with UK behemoths Bring Me The Horizon on all dates, and others opened by the likes of Lamb of God, Motionless In White, and Loathe. The London show meanwhile sports breakthrough deathcore act Lorna Shore, and shares the rest of the line-up with the South American shows featuring metalcore legends Hatebreed, and goth shock-rock veteran Marilyn Manson just below Slipknot on the bill.
It is Manson’s name that has left a sour impression on fans however. Real name Brian Warner, Manson’s controversial career of goth anthems rife with violent themes, satanist provocations and graphic visuals has been overshadowed by a string of sexual assault allegations. Multiple women, including Warner’s former fiancée actress Evan Rachel Wood, have accused him of sexual and domestic abuse, though this case was settled in 2024, and last year a four-year investigation led to no charges being brought upon him. Warner denies all allegations.
According to BBC News, many Slipknot fans are refusing to buy tickets to the show due to Manson’s name on the poster. The BBC quote internet users who say they are “disappointed”, and one who says they “would’ve loved to see this but there’s literally nothing you could do to get my cash in Manson’s pockets.” Conversely, others have noted the compatibility between Manson and Slipknot, both of whom were known through the late ‘90s and 2000s for their larger-than-life stage personas and disturbing aesthetics – one wrote that they have a “huge fanbase overlap” and they feel Manson would be a “perfect support act.”
Slipknot held a celebration this evening outside both Wembley and Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, where a sculpture of their ‘tribal S’ logo was set ablaze, and fans could access an exclusive early ticket and merchandise sale. The (Sic)est Stadium Tour comes to the UK on July 3 2027, North America from July 16 to August 18, and South America September 4 to 16. Tickets for Wembley Stadium go on sale tomorrow, September 29, at 10am GMT, before general sale opens on Friday October 2.
