Kodaline have announced their final farewell with tour dates announced for the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia. This announcement comes some six months after the Irish band told fans that they would step away from the band which was formed in November 2006. The tour which will be a final goodbye for fans, will also undoubtedly be emotional for the rock band who said that their journey has been the stuff dreams are made of. In a statement made to the BBC they also thanked fans for their love and support for an unforgettable journey.
The tour will begin unofficially in Cork and Dublin in June where the band will play two shows. But fans across the world who also want to catch the band on their last set of performances will be glad to see that the 29 date tour stretches across the world. The band will start the tour in Singapore in August before continuing on in Asia before visiting Australia. They will then take a two month break before starting the UK and European leg including a whopping seven dates in Germany before finishing in Manchester on December 12.
Kodaline’s claim to fame was their appearance on Ireland’s You’re a Star, a reality music completion where they finished runners up in November 2006. Known then as 21 Demands, the band released their first single ‘Give Me A Minute’ which went to number one on the Irish Singles Chart. Following their name change, Kodaline released their debut EP ‘The Kodaline EP’ in September 2012. Their debut album ‘In A Perfect World’ came out in June 2013 and reached number three in the UK. They released three more albums ‘Coming Up For Air’, ‘Politics of Living’ and ‘One Day At a Time’ before they announced their split. Although the release date and title for their fifth and final are still unknown, Kodaline have also confirmed it’s upcoming release. Although fans have started to speculate it may be ‘We Were Only Young’ following recent captions of posts from the band posted to Instagram over the last week.
