Following a five year hiatus, in a statement which Duffy posted to her website in February 2020, she opened the curtain for fans who had long since awaited her return. She detailed a harrowing experience in which she was “raped and drugged and held captive over some days”. Further explaining her absence, she told fans “The recovery took time” but “trust me I am OK and safe now”.

This is not the first time that Disney+ has forayed into documentaries. Featured on the subscription service, fans of all types of artists are able to see well made and produced retellings/behind the scenes introspectives of some of the world’s biggest stars. Musical documentaries on Disney+ include ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, ‘Music by John Williams’ and arguably most popularly the concert film of ‘Taylor Swift, The Era’s Tour (Taylor’s Version’). Fans of Duffy will hope that her documentary will handle the subject material respectfully and delicately while allowing for an honest and raw retelling of events in connection with Sean Doyle, Disney+ Vice President assurance that “This film will give Duffy the chance to tell her story in her own words.”

Born Aimée Anne Duffy, the Welsh singer signed with A&M records in November 2007. Duffy’s debut album ’Rockferry’ was released in March 2008 and subsequently became the UK’s best selling album of the year. It’s most popular single ‘Mercy’ paired with Duffy’s raw and soulful vocal propelled the album to a Grammy Award in 2009, three Brit awards as well as three MOJO award nominations. Her second album ‘Endlessly’ was released in November 2010. Over the years which followed, Duffy cancelled festival and tour performances before featuring in the 2015 crime thriller ‘Legend’ to which she provided three songs for the soundtrack. In the years that followed, Duffy vanished from the public eye for the aforementioned reasons.

Disney+ have not yet released a date for Duffy’s documentary but fans can expect a “really powerful project” according to Disney+’s head of content Angela Jain.

However, on 24 February, we learned that was not true. “Documenting one of the most iconic journeys in music history,” said the band’s press release that day, a documentary entitled ‘Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition’ “will be released in cinemas worldwide from May 7th 2026.”

The film’s title, unbeknownst to some, comes from a debut album era B Side, the second track from the single for ‘Running Free’. The song is not featured on the debut itself.

Yesterday, on 18 March, a trailer was released for the new film directed by Malcom Venville, probably most known for the suitably Maiden-esque ‘Churchill at War’. Clocking in at 2:28, the trailer is the band’s career in microcosm, from their beginnings on the East End pub circuit during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal to their modern touring dominance, through their initial rise with Paul Di’Anno, then ‘90s slump with the advent of grunge and alternative rock.

The trailer is also not starved for side characters giving their personal story with Maiden, be they fans or other musicians from across various genres. Chuck D of Public Enemy features, as does Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. Ulrich has a particularly deep connection with the British metal scene of the early ‘80s, having travelled over by himself at the age of seventeen to discover the underground bands causing commotion.

The trailer also surprisingly features contributions from Blaze Bayley, the band’s frontman during their ‘90s downturn, commenting on the situation when he joined the band. Speaking of that period in the film, bassist and Maiden general Steve Harris says “any long career’s going to have ups and downs, and you just kind of ride with it”.  Bayley, once and future Wolfsbane frontman, says that “the press were saying Maiden are dead”.

Though the trailer forecasts that the documentary may discuss sensitive themes around the band’s history, like ex-frontman Paul Di’Anno’s substance abuse, current singer Bruce Dickinson’s throat cancer and their poor record sales in the ‘90s, they are treated with the optimism and wit the band are known for. “We were just up against it”, says Harris, “but I like that, it’s a challenge”.

The trailer ends on a triumphant note with a heartfelt tribute to the fans. “It was always about the fans”, says Dickinson. Chuck D is on hand to explain their appeal: “this band created its one universe”. “They belong together”, says manager Rod Smallwood in tribute to the band.

Iron Maiden’s place in the history of metal cannot be questioned. They consolidated the form birthed by Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, pairing these influences with a progressive streak and a focus on simultaneously catchy and epic song structures. Despite number one singles and albums, they always remained connected to their fans and their rapport has sustained them creatively over their now five decade career.

‘Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition’ showcases in cinemas across the UK on 7 May, and tickets are available now.

For anyone that is a fan of Williams, even from her Paramore days this is an intriguing joyride into just how demanding musical creativity can be on an individual. The documentary is heartfelt and human, providing fans with a front row seat into the making of everyone’s favourite lyrical powerhouse record. The beloved superstar uploaded the mini documentary, titled, ‘The Making of Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’, to her YouTube channel last week, dragging audiences into her creation of the four-time Grammy nominated record.

Williams is seen working closely with producers Daniel James and Jim-E Stack, mixing tracks and distinguishing what is right from wrong. The teams work ethic and determination is admirable, inspiring to any aspiring musician.

The short-lived documentary displays Williams in the studio working on particular fan favourites with fellow musicians. It is an incredibly articulate insight for any fan of Williams’ creative process showcasing her masterful songwriting skills and raw talent.

Williams initially shared her third solo project on her website in July 2025. The highly anticipated work sent fans into a frenzy worldwide originally dubbed as, ‘Ego.’ Prior to the records officially release, 17 tracks were briefly uploaded to her website in July 2025, only accessible via a code from Williams’ hair dye brand, Good Dye Young.

‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’ is a phenomenal record musically and similarly in its message. It is Williams’ first solo music project since she became a free agent. At just a nimble 15-years-old Williams was signed to a 20-year contract with Atlantic Records, two decades later that contract has finally expired, and Williams is free to create. This newfound freedom is evident in her lyricism and her ability to enter near territories fearlessly.

Critics and fans alike deem the record Williams’ greatest solo work, these new projects greatly indicate how long Williams has been yearning to create solo projects. The record was met with widespread acclaim from music critics upon its release, RollingStone listed the album as number 9 on their ‘100 Best Albums of 2025’ list.

Fans will not have to wait around to witness Williams in the flesh as she is set to bring the album to life on a stage near you in the new year. Heading out on a world tour next month, Williams is racking in dates in North America, Europe, and the UK. The jam-packed tour is set to begin in Atlanta on March 27, 2026.

The three-part series will follow the former bandmates as they go on a “spontaneous adventure” across the United States, giving fans a “rare look” into the lives are they reconnect as friends.

The show has not got a name yet, but will be directed by Nicola Marsh, who helped co-direct the 2024 Demi Lovato documentary Child Star.

The show is expected to be released next year.

This announcement comes after Louis Tomlinson made an appearance during Zayn’s show in Los Angeles in January.

This was their first public reunion since Liam Payne’s funeral last November.

The former One Direction member sadly passed away aged 31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina after falling from a third-floor balcony.

Zayn and Louis have had an on-again, off-again feud on social media since Zayn’s departure from the band in 2025.

According to the BBC, it started when producer Naughty Boy shared a social media post with the caption “Replace this” as a dig at One Direction in 2015.

A few years later, in 2017, Louis confirmed that him and Zayn were on better terms and had put it all behind them.

Earlier this week, Louis announced his third album ‘How Did I Get Here?’ which comes out January 23, as well as releasing his new single ‘Lemonade’.

He also announced a 2026 arena tour which will see him play around the world with a UK leg in April/May. Dates include shows in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Brighton and London.

Zayn has announced a Las Vegas residency for 2026 where he will play seven nights at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in January.

These are his second run of shows since leaving One Direction in 2015.

He previously played the ‘Stairway To The Sky’ tour in November 2024, which saw him pay tribute to the late Liam Payne on the screen behind him.

The Vegas shows are described as “only the beginning of what will be a massive year for Zayn.”

‘Yungblud. Are You Ready, Boy?’ is the singers new feature-length documentary created by Emmy and BAFTA award winning director Paul Dugdale, known for his work‘The Prodigy: World’s On Fire’, ‘Adele One Night Only’, ‘ariana grande: excuse me, i love you;’, ‘The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon’, and more. 

This documentary follows the musician at a pivotal moment in his career after releasing his successful album ‘Idols’, which topped the UK official album charts. It offers a look into his creative process as an artist, specifically following the making of his fourth studio album, ‘Idols’. The documentary was recorded at Berlin’s Hansa Studios and features twelve brand new performances.

Yungblud brought his parents, Justin and Samantha Harrison, to the premiere. During the premiere, he reflected on working with award-winning director Dugdale, explaining that it has been “a crazy journey” getting to work with him and that “when I had this idea, my bucket list director was Paul [Dugdale] because I knew he’d tell the story with truth and authenticity,”.   

Yungblud felt honored, explaining that “This film had to be made. People need to see what it takes to make an album of this ambition. The whole point of going to Hansa Studios and this whole album was about relinquishing a pedestal, walking amongst giants, and seeing if you can do it. It’s also a story of friendship and love; you have to be willing to allow the uncomfortable and the scary to be shown to the world.”   In his trailer for the upcoming documentary, Yungblud discloses that he needs to “figure out who I am as an adult, as a man”. The singer also recently released a video on Instagram where he shares that his fans “are my biggest drive, this community they are my heartbeat, but it’s not within my control if they stay or they go”.

‘Yungblud. Are You Ready, Boy?’ allows for a space to show what it truly takes to make an album with the focus on ‘Idols’. The singer wanted to “make a film that truly documents where we are right now, at this moment, around the release of my most ambitious album to date,”. This documentary shows a generational artist finding his own voice.

Yungblud describes the film as a piece “that truly documents where we are right now in this moment at the release of my most ambitious album to date.” in reference to the ‘Idols’ record released last month. The resilient album, he describes, “forces you to look in a mirror and question who you are without compromise. It’s about comprehending what the ‘Idols’ in your life may have taught you but inevitably realising that all the answers came from within you.”.

The artist then goes on to detail his connection to the Berlin location that the documentary was filmed at.

He says, “Berlin has always radiated complete unfiltered truth every time I have visited it and hansa studios is fucking iconic. You can feel the history in Hansa; it’s in the silence between takes, the ceiling above looming over you. You’re standing in the shadows of all these legends asking yourself who the fuck am I and what am I gonna lead behind?”

The Doncaster singer-songwriter’s connection to historic sites runs through his career, as he recently announced his new venue opening on Soho’s historic hotspot for music culture, London Street.

Yungblud has been at the forefront of some exciting performances, celebrating Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning concert with his fierce cover of ‘Changes’.

He later revealed that the performance was hindered by a struggle with tonsillitis, which led him to cancel his performance at Dundee’s LiveHouse. The singer seems to still be facing health difficulties as he has just cancelled his Friday show at Grand Central Hall. Though, in classic Yungblud cheek, the singer shared on his Instagram story that he’d “put some money behind the bar” for ticket purchasers to get a drink on him. He urged fans to “be together and celebrate each other, as that’s what Yungblud is about”.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, the mockumentary is expected to blur the lines between documentary and scripted storytelling, capturing both the highs and pressures of being a modern-day pop star. The film’s cast includes actor Alexander Skarsgård and comedian Jamie Demetriou, hinting at a mix of drama and humour. Given Charli XCX’s history of innovative and genre-defying work, ‘The Moment’ is likely to reflect her signature bold and unconventional style.

According to Deadline, Sean Ono Lennon, the pair’s son, has overseen the audio remastering of the One to One concert, having fulfilled a similar role on various Lennon remasters in recent years. The benefit concert was played twice, with the afternoon show featuring more songs than the evening show. Among the songs played across both shows are ‘Power to the People’, ‘Instant Karma!’, and ‘Give Peace a Chance’. The remastering of the audio suggests that an accompanying album could be released alongside the documentary, possibly a remaster of ‘Live in New York City’, which was recorded at the concert.

  Magnolia Pictures co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley saw the film as “a revelation,” while director Kevin Macdonald described the documentary as “a movie about music and love and politics and about immersing yourself in the year of 1972—a period in time that feels uncannily like the world we are currently inhabiting.”

The documentary focuses on Lennon and Yoko’s time living in Greenwich Village, which was the happening place on the US’s East Coast. It had become the centre of countercultural movements in the late 60s, and was the birthplace of Beat poetry. The pair were a natural fit for the artist’s haven, and were both involved in protesting through their bed-ins and their own form of  resistance, ‘bagism’.  

Given the period that will be covered, fans should be expecting the documentary to explore Lennon’s relationship with the Nixon administration. His outspoken criticism of the US president and anti-war stance landed him in various deportation meetings, and it was revealed after his death that he had been closely monitored by the FBI, with the files eventually being released to the public.

The trailer, along with the earlier teaser, suggests candid moments between the couple will play a big role. It was the intimate, behind-the-scenes moments that made ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ and ‘Beatles ‘64’ as insightful as they were, and early reviews from the documentary suggest that viewers won’t be let down. 

 The reception to the film from its limited film festival last year was overwhelmingly positive, earning the film a Metacritic score of 82. Reviewing the film for The Guardian, Xan Brooks gave it four out of five stars and said, “If only more nostalgic music documentaries could muster such a fun, fierce, and full-blooded take on old, familiar material. One to One, against the odds, makes Lennon feel somehow vital again.”

The documentary will receive a theatrical run in the UK. It will be released on IMAX on 9 April, before expanding to smaller theatres on 11 April. The full list is available here, along with dates.

With its mix of unseen footage, remastered concert audio, and political intrigue, One to One: John and Yoko will appeal to fans of the ex-Beatle as much as those interested in the social and political history of the early 70s.

The documentary includes interviews with Collins recorded in Vevey, Switzerland, in October 2022, just months after his retirement from touring in March. This followed Genesis’ final performance at London’s O2 Arena, marking the end of an era for the legendary group.

Joining Collins in these interviews is his son, Nic, who served as drummer for his father’s later tours. Their discussions dive deeply into the specifics of drumming techniques and iconic fills, with Nic reflecting on stepping into his father’s role. One interviewee remarks: “What other sixteen-year-old could do those Genesis parts?” showing just how crucial Nic’s lifelong connection to his father’s music was in him earning his role.

The documentary traces Collins’ journey from receiving his first drum at age three to joining Genesis in 1970 after responding to an advert in music newspaper, Melody Maker. Peter Gabriel, then the band’s lead singer, reportedly recognised Collins’ talent instantly.

The film also explores the development of Collins’ signature drumming style, a blend of traditional acoustic kits and electronic pads, which helped define the sound of hits like ‘Invisible Touch’. Reflecting on his transition to lead vocalist following Gabriel’s departure, Collins commented, “I’m a drummer who also sings,” downplaying his rise as a frontman despite his theatrical experience undoubtedly bolstering his confidence.

Iconic moments from his solo career feature prominently. The creation of “In the Air Tonight,” including its iconic drum fill, is unpacked. Collins revealed that the now-famous fill wasn’t part of the original demo but came later, becoming a defining element of his sound. During his time as a record producer, Collins was asked to do an “In the Air Tonight’ fill more than once.  

The documentary delves into the making of ‘Easy Lover’, his chart-topping collaboration with Philip Bailey. Written during Bailey’s album sessions, the track was initially dubbed ‘Tuesday Lover’ before its evolution into a worldwide hit.  

Health issues also form a key part of the narrative. Collins dislocated vertebrae in his neck during a 2007 Genesis reunion tour, resulting in nerve damage that made drumming impossible. “After playing drums for 50 years, I’ve had to stop,” he said in 2009. Multiple surgeries followed, and he performed his final tours seated, with Nic taking over drumming duties.  

The physical toll of drumming is further discussed by contributors like Liberty DeVitto, Billy Joel’s longtime drummer. “I’ll deal with it later. We [felt like we] were invincible” DeVitto remarked, addressing the attitude toward the health of drummers of Collins’ generation.
