October 18 marked National Album Day, as it does every year, unlike other years the theme of 2025 was rock.
National Album Day, currently on its 8th rendition, exists to ‘celebrate the album as an artform, spotlighting the music, creativity and stories that shape our lives.’
The BPI, the UK association of independent labels and record firms (BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize), and ERA, the digital entertainment and retail association (Record Store Day), collaborate to arrange National Album Day. Presented in collaboration with BBC Radio 2, the official broadcast partner.
