New Jersey based rock band, My Chemical Romance are bringing their theatrical rock opera stage show to the UK and Europe in 2026. The announcement of a stellar group of opening acts is only enhancing excitement among fans, take a look at the full list below!
The band are kicking off their long-anticipated return to the UK in Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 30 before heading over to Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on July 4. Finishing off their run of UK shows the band is set to play three nights at London’s Wembley stadium from July 8 to July 11. They will then travel to Florence, Italy to play Visarno Arena on July 15 before finalising in Madrid, Spain on July 18.
At long last the band has shared those who will be joining them on their UK and Europe run and it is a monumental crew. No strangers to choosing premier openers for their fans, My Chemical Romance typically make these musical decisions based upon their own diverse music tastes.
Kickstarting in Liverpool My Chemical Romance are joined by Echo & The Bunnymen, leading on from this on July 4 they are in good company with Idlewild in Glasgow’s Bellahouston park. For each one of their three Wembley shows they’ve hand picked three different artists. On the opening night, July 8 they are accompanied by Skunk Anansie followed by Joan Jett on July 10 and finally Sunny Day Real Estate on their closing night. In Florence, Italy attendees will witness an opening set from Interpol before the band has their curtain call in Madrid, Spain with a prelude from Mogwai.
The band lovingly shared a poster via their Instagram with the new additions to their show with the caption: ‘We can’t wait to see all of you.” Likewise, guys, likewise.
Back in September the legendary emo group cryptically teased UK shows. They shared a video to Instagram depicting an old school game show host telling viewers, “Our two fine contestants will help us learn who will be the next lucky country to win the grand prize of one nuclear winter.” Before exclaiming, “Congratulations, United Kingdom!” Following this there was cryptic imagery dotted around central London. Fans shared photos on X of a doll seen on stage in earlier shows popping up on screens at St Pancras tube station and billboards in Leicester Square. Not entirely sure what a ‘Nuclear winter’ is but it is definitely something not to miss!
The boys have also announced an equally invigorating gaggle of support acts for their 2026 North American shows. This includes Franz Ferdinand, Pierce the Veil, Iggy Pop, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World, Mars Volta and The Breeders. Each individual show seems to be in for a wild ride.
The emo assembly are notorious for delivering heavenly live shows, complete with falsified live executions, an exploding clown and fully fledged acting performances from each band member. The band are set to stop touring in late 2026, but for now the best is simply yet to come.
