Garth Brooks has been announced as the first headliner for London’s BST Hyde Park 2026.
The country star is set to play the Great Oak Stage on June 27 next year, playing his first UK show in 30 years.
Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals said, “Announcing Garth Brooks as our first BST Hyde Park headliner for 2026 is a landmark moment. He joins the line of legendary artists who have defined BST over the years.
“A true global icon, Garth’s songs have connected with audiences everywhere, and his influence has paved the way for many of the country stars we celebrate today.
He continued: “His first UK performance in nearly three decades promises to be an unforgettable occasion at Hyde Park.”
The full supporting line-up for Brooks’ BST Hyde Park show – including some “special guests” – is set to be revealed in the coming weeks and months.
Garth Brooks’ rise in the 1990’s was unprecedented: blockbuster albums such as ‘Ropin’ the Wind’, ‘The Chase’, ‘In Pieces’, with each selling multimillions of copies.
He became the first US artist in any genre to earn seven US diamond-certified albums, surpassing even The Beatles.
In 1999, he invented a new persona, experimenting with a soft-rock vibe that was later reframed as celebrity reinvention.
In the 2000s, he stepped away from recording to focus on family, a hiatus that might have ended a lesser career, only to come back in 2014 with a global tour that sold millions of tickets.
By 2019, he became the best-selling solo album artist in US history, selling more than 170 million units worldwide.
Garth Brooks induction into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame shows that his legacy goes beyond just sales.
Whether delivering tear-stained ballads or firing up stadiums with rowdy anthems, he has expanded the definition of the country genre, and reshaped the blueprint for modern superstardom.
BST Hyde Park is one of the UK’s biggest music festivals, drawing around half a million people each summer for multiple weekends of shows.
Since launching in 2013, it has hosted major acts such as Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Florence and The Machine, and Take That.
The BST Hyde Park show will take place June 27 next year.
