Vocalist Lauren Mayberry was seen in the X post with bandmates Martin Doherty and Ian Cook with the caption “Jvmpscare. CHV 5 in progress.” In the video post they revealed, “We’re working, we’ll see you soon”. What made the announcement all the more special, was the band’s first live performance since 2023 at the launch event for the video game Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
The event took place at London’s creative cultural space, HERE at Outernet. Following Caroline Polachek’s lead set, where the singer performed her song highlighted in the soundtrack, the band then performed their soundtrack feature, ‘Death Stranding’. They announced, “This is something really special. This band was last on stage together two years ago and tonight they wanted to be here to perform a song that is very important to all of us that love Death Stranding.”
They also revealed details of their in-game characters which will feature in the Death Stranding sequel.

After their electrifying synth inspired performance, the band spoke with the game creator Hideo Kojima along with the event host Geoff Keighley where they revealed to the crowd that their upcoming album was on the way.
One fan shared the details of the announcement on social media.
Whilst the band have been on hiatus, Mayberry released a solo LP ‘Vicious Creatures’, which she described to Dork magazine as a “fun, freaky, sad, weird, joyful” project. Mayberry also spoke to NME about the band’s hiatus, saying “After 10 years and four albums, this is a good time to take a minute, […] Everyone go on your own adventure so when we come back we’re not just having the same musical conversations over and over.”
We’ll be on the lookout for the band’s new release and other updates, which you can keep up with on their official artist website.
