Last night on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The Jungle Arms reopened and the karaoke challenge allowed campmates to show of their music skills, but it was Aitch who delivered the most emotional moment of the evening.
The Manchester based rapper was announced to go in the jungle last month and last night he performed his hit single ‘My G’ which he had originally released in 2022 with Ed Sheeran. The song is dedicated to his younger sister Gracie, who has down syndrome, and has always resonated with fans not only due to the moving lyrics, but also for the love Aitch has always expressed for his sibling.
With Ed Sheeran being unavailable to join him in the jungle, Aitch invited his close friend Angry Ginge to perform with him. His fellow celebrities were touched, sharing their emotional reactions as the performance went on. Viewers watching also felt the same way praising the beautiful moment and saying how the heartfelt tribute left them in tears.
Fans commented on how proud Gracie and the rest of his family must feel, applauding Aitch for sharing such an important message during his jungle journey.
Aitch, whose real name is Harrison James Armstrong, has been open about the reason why he joined the jungle this year. Speaking on ahead of his arrival, he explained that his biggest motivation was to raise awareness for those living with Down Syndrome, as well as their families.
He described the condition as a “blessing” and expressed how he never wants anyone to feel worried when a loved one is diagnosed. He hopes people see the joy, love and happiness that individuals with Down Syndrome bring into the world.
He shared with the Daily Mail before heading into the jungle, “My main thing, really and truly, is because I don’t want Down Syndrome to be seen as a negative thing.”
During his time in the jungle, Aitch has spoken to his campmates about Gracie and her non-identical twin sister Hattie, giving viewers a glimpse into the strong family bond that continues to inspire his music and career.
The performance at The Jungle Arms last night was a reminder of that connection, a moment in reality TV which had real emotion, and left fans cheering for Aitch both as an artist, but also a brother.
Gracie has also been seen with her non-identical twin sister Hattie in Australia with the other families, waiting to greet Aitch whenever he leaves the jungle.
