Ozzy Osbourne has revealed to fans that he still plans to tour, despite the name of his Farewell Tour, ‘No More Tours 2′. Osbourne, who turned 70 this month, says that the shows aren’t actually a farewell tour. ‘People have got it all wrong,’ he said. ‘The tour should have been the Ozzy Osbourne ‘Slowing Down Tour.’

Speaking to Pasadena Star-News, he said: ‘What I’m actually doing is not going out on January 1 and coming back on December 31. I’ll still tour, but not as extensively like I have been for the last 50 years. I mean, I have grandchildren now and I’m 70 years old and I don’t want to be found dead in a hotel room somewhere.

I’m going to do it at a more leisurely pace and do some shows in Vegas … but I’ll never stop.

‘The whole lifestyle I have lived, it has all come down to the fact that there are people who want to hear me and as long as they want to hear me, I’m there.’

In another interview, Osbourne revealed that he no longer drinks or takes drugs, where he opened up about his drink and drug taking past. While promoting Ozzfest, an event he is due to headline on New Year’s Eve in California, Osbourne said: ‘I don’t drink alcohol anymore…I don’t smoke tobacco. I don’t use drug, I’m doing good right now. I now think, ‘how did I think going into a bar and getting smashed and doing all that cocaine was fun?’

He continued: ‘I have come to think that if right now you had a gun, a bag of cocaine and a gallon of booze and you said ‘Take your pick’, I’d pick up the gun. It’s not worth it. I don’t believe in making New Year’s resolutions, so I won’t be making one this year, I just hope that God keeps me alive.’

Spotify have settled a $1.6 billion claim over songwriter and publishing rights for an undisclosed amount. The lawsuit was initially filed on last year on December 29 2017 by Wixen Music Publishing over over the alleged use of more than 10,000 songs without a license or compensation.

The firm looks after high profile songwriters, including Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, Zach De La Rocha and Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machiene, Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, and the late Tom Petty. Although, Spotify have struck deals with major record labels, Wixen had accused Spotify of failing to address the claims of its songwriters and publishers.

The companies released a joint statement, which read ‘Wixen Music Publishing and Spotify USA have agreed to a final dismissal of the lawsuit filed by Wixen Music Publishing late last year. The conclusion of that litigation is a part of a broader business partnership between the parties, which fairly and reasonably resolves the legal claims asserted by Wixen Music Publishing relating to past licensing of Wixen’s catalogue and establishes a mutually-advantageous relationship for the future.’

On Thursday, Beyoncé fans were excited to see that two new projects – ‘Have Your Way’ and ‘Back up, Rewind’. These two tracks had appeared on Spotify but have since then been removed, with leaks reportedly comprising of unreleased demos and old songs. However, Queen B wasn’t the only one affected by this as R&B singer SZA put on Instagram to help try and clear up the confusion: ‘These are random scratches from 2015. Def not new new. But … creative? And scary?.’ It is still unknown who is responsible for the leak.

Following Brexit, a recent report has flagged up about the potential difficulty that UK users may have with streaming sites such as Spotify. The Independent reports, ‘Portability’ regulations in place since April mean that streaming services cannot discriminate between a user at home in the UK or travelling throughout the rest of Europe. However, government documents about the potential impact of a no-deal Brexit suggests that the arrangement would ‘cease to apply.’

The Independent continued: ‘This means online content service providers will not be required or able to offer cross-border access to UK consumers under the EU Regulation. UK consumers may see restrictions to their online content services when they temporarily visit the EU.’

Meanwhile, Neil Young has launched a new launched a new subscription service and an app that collates material from his career. The Neil Young archives includes a complete back catalogue of audio and visual content. Subscribers can pay either $1.99 per month or $19.99 for a full year, to access new content that has not yet been released.

Avicii died earlier this year and now Swedish documents show that his parents stand to inherit his reported fortune, which is upwards of $25 million, Billboard can now confirm. Electronic legend Avicii passed away of an apparent suicide in April 2018, but he did not leave a will before taking his life before taking his life. But, according to Swedish law whatever remains of his financial estate after national and international tax debts, would go to his parents as he was not married.

Avicii’s parents released a statement shortly after his death that seemed to confirm that their son committed suicide. They said: ‘He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.’ The 28 year old’s parents have since re-organised his official website as an open-source memory board, and presumably approved the donation of his Steinway piano to a Stockholm museum.

Tim Bergling was very charitable during his professional success and in 2011 he founded House For Hunger, eventually donated $1 million via ticket sales to Feeding America. He also gave €1 million to Swedish charity Radiohjalpen and $60,000 to the FEED Foundation. RED was also a charity that Avicii worked close with, who raised awareness for fight the spread of, and increase the care options for those living with HIV and AIDS. Avicii found that when he started making money he didn’t need it, saying back in 2013 interview: ‘I discovered when I started making money that I didn’t really need it.’

His $17.5 million home in LA was sold and done so off-market. His mother and Father (Anki Liden and Klas Bergling) will inherit his accumulated wealth of 231 million Swedish Krone rounds out to roughly $25 million. In 2017 Avicii stopped touring and doing live performances after being diagnosed with pancreatitis from excessive drinking. He was forced to have an emergency appendectomy and have his gallbladder removed.

In his True Stories’ documentary, Avicii spoke about how he felt pressured to perform when he didn’t even want to. He even predicted he would die young after playing 813 shows in eight years. In the documentary he is seen talking to his pals and admitted: ‘ I have said, like, I am going to die. I have said it so many times. And so I don’t want to hear that I should even entertain the thought of doing another gig.’ DJ Pete Tog said Avicii’s death was a wake up call to the music industry after his struggle was revealed in his documentary.

Tim Bergling died on April 20th 2018, and made a lasting mark on the electronic music scene. Avicii created classic hits such as ‘The Nights’ ‘Levels’ and ‘Addicted To You’.

Tickets are on sale now for £50.75 and you can purchase them here. Shirley Manson, singer of the group was named as the inaugural NME Iocn at the 2018 NME Awards. The band has spent the last year touring in celebration of the seminal 1998 album ‘Version 2.0′ as well as working on a ‘Roxy Music’ inspired new album.

‘The new songs just have that sort of darkness that Roxy Music did so well… I’ve always been obsessed with Roxy Music – it’s all I listen to actually. I don’t know why they’ve always been a favourite.’ Manson tole NME about work on their next album.

‘Of course Butch was once the president of the Roxy Music fan club in Madison, Wisconsin – so he’s also got this love and understanding of that kind of mood. It’s really the mood I’m after. We’ll see.’

She continued: ‘I always thought they were a very sort of modern-sounding band. Even now, you listen to these records and they’re really interesting sounds, there’s a sort of dangerous darkness about the sound that I really, really am aching for.’

Having sold over 17 million albums worldwide, Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig have been together for more than 25 years. After a seven year hiatus in 2005, the band released their fifth studio album ‘Not Your Kind of People’ in their own independently-run record label, STUNVOLUME. In 2015, Garbage celebrated their 20th anniversary of their debut album with their sold out ’20 Years Queer’ tour. Their most recent album ‘Strange Little Birds’ released in 2016 debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Rock and Alternative Albums chart.

Going back to 2007 when they came to the UK for the first time, John Young, the bands drummer spoke about their first time on British shores: ‘When we came to the UK for the very first time in 2007 we came across to the UK for the very first time, that was crazy; we were rolling around in a little van, to these little clubs and the promoters didn’t even know if we were meant to be playing. But that’s the point that we started seeing people freak out to the music.’

‘We came back in the summertime to open for Aerosmith in Hyde Park and that was when it started to take off. There’s so many magical memories from the UK; they’ve always been so welcoming to us, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we love if it weren’t for you guys.’

Reflecting on their past records Young speaks about all of Black Stone Cherry’s past records they have released: It’s crazy, thinking back about all these different records we’ve made in different places. Each one of them holds so much magic and memory for us, from the process of recording to touring them live. They’re all important in their own little ways

Deadmau5 has just been announced as Creamfields first Friday headliner along with Swedish House Mafia who will headline on the Sunday. The electronic and dance music festival will be held once again at the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire from August 22nd till the 25th. Tickets for Creamfields will go on sale on Friday 14th December (still at 2018 prices) and you can purchase them here.

Swedish House Mafia, who reformed earlier this year, have been announced as the festivals first Sunday headliner. The Swedish house music group consisting of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso formed way back in 2008 and then went their separate ways in 2013. However, now that they are back together they will certainly be one not to miss at Creamfields this year.

Speaking about their return Swedish House Mafia said: ‘The UK truly is our second home, whether it be at our very first Creamfields – or our last Milton Keynes Bowl, we want to bring it back to the festival. We’ve missed you guys and we can’t wait for festival season! See you at Creamfields.’

Deadmau5 will headline Friday night at Creamfields, he is a Canadian electronic music producer, DJ and musician. Deadmau5 produces a different variety of house styles within the progressive house genre and sometimes other forms of electronic music. First appearing at Creamfields back in 2008, he has since then been a regular at the festival and is always a fan favourite. In his shows he always uses a strong visual element which provides an extra hit to the senses on top of his exquisite performance. Until Friday Barclaycard customers can get 10% back on every presale ticket that is purchased.

More acts are yet to be announced, but can be expected in the coming weeks and months. The festival which has been running for the past 20 years now, attracts more than 70,000 people per day and has seen the biggest names in the electronic dance and music scene. The likes of Tiesto, The Chainsmokers, Sigma and Annie Mac have all performed at the festival in the last few years and these headliners are going to be just as good.

Creamfields will return to Daresbury, Cheshire on Thursday 22 August until Sunday 25th August 2019. With huge acts such as Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia set to headline this will be sure to be an unforgettable show. General tickets will be on sale from Friday the 14th December at 9am and you can purchase them here.
