Melancholy singer songwriter, Alex G has announced a 2026 US leg of his tour in celebration of his latest album, ‘Headlights’.The touring schedule is set to begin in February 2026 all the way through to May for the US spring tour.
‘Headlights’ is the tenth audio album released by American musician, Alex G. The album was released on July 18 2025 and marked his major label debut, with the album being released by RCA Records. Consisting of 12 tracks, and receiving great critical praise, the album reminds us once again why Alex G is quite as successful as he is.
Known for his DIY, indie rock style, Alex G (full name Alexander Giannascoli) has developed an online cult following over his active years. He first self released his debut album, ‘Race’ in 2010 at the age of 17, and in 2014 his breakthrough was marked as a successful, albeit still underground, major talented, bedroom artist.
DSU was released on June 17 2014 and to this day the album still reigns highly in fans hearts. The beloved Giannascoli developed a renaissance of popularity in 2020 due to TikTok usage skyrocketing. His songs were clipped countless times and used on all sorts of short form videos, this led to younger generations discovering Giannascoli and he once more had people falling in love with him all over again.
Social media favoured particular songs of his including ‘Mary’ and ‘Sarah’ from his 2012 album, ‘Trick’. This only urged listeners to delve into more of Giannascoli’s discography at the years went on.
Known for shifting vocal pitches, and unconventional production techniques, it is no wonder why Giannascoli became as famous as he is. Despite his growing influence on indie, bedroom pop as a whole Giannascoli remains extremely lowkey within his success. His own face isn’t plastered across his album covers and he rarely makes an appearance on his own social media. He keeps up his normal guy persona which greatly goes hand in hand with the type of music he creates, it’s as if he’s emphasising that anyone can truly achieve this if they want it enough, Giannascoli is on the same side as his fans not in some distant far away world.
The gloomy, sombre energy immortalised in Giannascoli’s music may simply be viewed as cheerless rather than impactful however it has had the complete opposite affect. The tracks have resulted in countless young people globally feeling seen. Giannascoli communicated these taboo feelings of distaste towards the universe that all too many individuals felt during a worldwide pandemic, life is not always sunshine and rainbows and it’s okay to talk about it, particularly in an environment as warming as Giannascoli’s discography.
Taking the world by storm ever since his Bandcamp days, Giannascoli is now set to take his prosperous tour worldwide. In the recent colder months of 2025, Giannascoli put on some incredible shows in the UK and Ireland including stops at Glasgow, Manchester, London and Bournemouth. The tour was extremely well received and dates sold out quickly, so it’ll be no surprise if the same happens for the US leg.
An artist who truly deserves every ounce of success that comes his way, Giannascoli will continue to serenade the hearts of many for years to come
