His breakthrough came in 2020 with the success of his single ‘Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat’. This success led to a record deal with Mom + Pop Music and the release of his self-titled debut album ‘Del Water Gap‘ in 2021.
Del Water Gap has previewed some of his new album with singles such as ‘How To Live’, ‘Marigolds’ and ‘Damn’.
The new album follows from his 2023 release ‘I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet’. The album explores themes of love, addiction, self-discovery, and loneliness. The album was recorded and written in New York, Los Angeles and London, and the London sessions marked a point that increased his connection with the UK’s indie scene.
Del Water Gap has built a loyal UK following, performing sold-out shows in London, Manchester, and Glasgow, and receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6 Music.
In 2024, he supported Niall Horan on ‘The Show: Live On Tour’ across North America, the UK, and Ireland, where he performed at iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden and the London’s O2 Arena.
This summer, he performed at Reading & Leeds festival, and played a sold-out show at London’s HERE at Outernet.
When talking about his time at Reading festival, he said, “I’m at Reading Festival the first time in my life. I love it here It’s a beautiful day. I bought some wellies at Lidl. I had a great set. Lot of nice people there. Have some friends here today”
Last year, Del Water Gap teamed up with Holly Humberstone on the single ‘Cigarettes & Wine’.
When describing his music, Del Water Gap said, “I grew up really shy. And I think my music is about trying to find closeness in a world where sometimes it’s hard to find closeness.”
“I’m also a recovering cynic. I grew up with very cynical parents, but I think I’ve always inherently been a very hopeful person. So I think a lot of my music is about that perseverance and hope.”
His mix of heartfelt lyrics, magnetic stage presence, and genre-blending sound continues to position Del Water Gap as one of the most exciting voices in modern indie music.
