Louis Tomlinson has announced his third solo album ‘How Did I Get Here?’.
This announcement came yesterday alongside the release of his single ‘Lemonade’.
The album comes out 23 January next year and will mark the start of a new era for the former One Direction member.
Earlier in the year, Louis took to social media to tease the new record, whilst discussing his festival Away From Home which is taking place October 4 and 5 in New York City.
When speaking about his new album in a press release, Louis said, “I sum up it as ‘The record I always deserved to make.”
“My bread and butter is my honesty. I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope it comes through in the music. I’m still learning and getting better as a singer and a songwriter. I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I’m allowing myself to be the artist I’d always hoped to be.”
He also revealed that reaching this point required significant preparation and self-development: “Taking all of the steps I did to get here was important. I needed to the confidence to become the artist I wanted to be and make a hopefully big, but personal album. I think I did.”
For the first time in his solo career, Louis expressed that he’s “allowing myself to be the artist I’d always hoped to be.”
Back in July, whilst performing at Lodz Summer Festival, Louis confirmed he’d actually finished recording the album.
Alongside the single release and album announcement, fans have taken to social media to share billboards that they have found around the world at arenas with a question mark that has been teased on Louis’ social medias.
Fans have speculated a potential arena tour after the release of the album, particularly at arenas such as London’s O2 Arena and Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.
