Big Thief have confirmed details of a major UK and European tour for 2026 in support of their forthcoming sixth studio album ‘Double Infinity’, due for release this Friday (September 5).
Titled the ‘Somersault Slide 360’ tour, the run will see the band – Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek and James Krivchenia – play some of the largest headline venues of their career.
The tour will open in London with a three-night residency at the O2 Academy Brixton on April 23, 24 and 25. Further UK and Ireland dates include Dublin’s 3Arena (April 29), Manchester’s Aviva Studios (May 27) and Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom (May 30). These shows are scheduled around an extensive European itinerary, with concerts confirmed in Oslo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan and Hamburg across the spring and summer.
Support acts for the tour will include pianist and composer Dylan Meek, ambient pioneer Laraaji, and Ghanaian electronic artist Ata Kak, bringing a broad mix of sounds to accompany Big Thief’s own eclectic style. The tour follows the release of ‘Double Infinity;, the band’s first album since 2022’s Grammy-nominated ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You’.
So far, Big Thief have previewed the record with four singles: ‘Incomprehensible’, ‘Grandmother’, ‘All Night All Day’ and ‘Los Angeles’. In a statement about the making of the album, the band said: “We (James, Buck, & Adrianne) spent the last couple of years gathering songs, then asked our friends to join us in bringing the songs to life, and then whittled it down to the nine in this batch.”
The shows mark another step up for the Brooklyn-formed band, who have steadily built a reputation as one of indie rock’s most ambitious and acclaimed acts. Their previous tours have seen them balance intimate performances with festival headline slots, but the scale of venues on the Somersault Slide 360 tour underlines the band’s growing global reach.
Tickets for the UK and European dates go on general sale at 10am BST on Thursday, September 11. An artist presale will open earlier, at 10am on Monday, September 8.
‘Double Infinity’ is available to preorder now.
