Lana Del Rey has announced the supporting acts for her UK/Ireland tour kicking off today (June 23) in Cardiff.
She shared a post confirming the supporting acts on her Instagram. English indie-pop band London Grammar will be joining for the opening show of the tour, tonight at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
Electro-pop singer-songwriter Banks will join Lana for her next three shows at Glasgow (June 26), Liverpool (28) and Dublin (30). For the following two dates at Wembley Stadium on July 4 and 5, rising popstar Addison Rae will feature as support.
Fans are still anticipating Lana’s next release – when this tour was announced in November, it was said to be in support of her upcoming tenth studio album, ‘Lasso’. The project was then renamed ‘The Right Person Will Stay’, but in a now deleted Instagram video posted in April, she told followers the album had undergone a second name change and wouldn’t be released in May.
She has released two tracks from the album so far. ‘Bluebird’ and ‘Henry, Come Over’, both of which showcase an acoustic, folky style that still captures her signature atmospheric sound. Back in January, she stated that the upcoming project would delve into country music, while exploring other genres throughout the record.
As fans gear up to watch Lana perform in the UK, certain cities are taking measures to accommodate the concert goers for these big gigs. As she plays Hampden Park National Stadium in Glasgow on Thursday (June 26), rail operator ScotRail has announced extra trains and carriages for the concert, between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida (the closest station to the stadium).
There will also be measures put in place in Cardiff for her show tonight, with a number of road closures planned around the stadium and in Cardiff city centre to ensure that fans can travel to and from Principality Stadium safely.
