Governors Ball Music Festival happened this past weekend at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York. Glass Animals headlined on Sunday June 8th alongside the well-known Irish singer, Hozier. Performing on the Kiehl’s stage, their festival set list included songs, ‘The Other Side of Paradise’, ‘Take A Slice’, ‘Youth’, ‘Gooey’, ending the night with ‘Heat Waves’. Lead singer, Dave Bayley, jumped into the crowd while performing ‘Gooey’.
The band performed at the festival with other artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Clairo, Conan Gray, Wallows, RAYE, Wasia Project, Role Model, and more. Glass Animals lucked out with the festival weather this past weekend as there were multiple calls for storms and heavy rain resulting in cancelled performances, doors pushed back for hours, and attendees demanding refunds on tickets.
The band will also be performing at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee later this month, and the Mad Cool festival in Madrid this July. Glass Animals’ ‘Tour of Earth’ European and UK leg of the tour happened in October and November including performances in Paris, Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, Manchester, and more. The continuation of their tour with the North American leg is happening this summer, alongside openers Sofia Isella from California, U.S., and Irish singer-songwriter, Orla Gartland.
Their tour includes top hits as well as songs from their 2024 album ‘I Love You So F***ing Much’. Performances this summer started in Saratoga Springs, New York, and are ending August 17th in Nevada. The band collected footage from their 2024 leg of the tour creating a short documentary on their tour journey explaining that “music can make people have this incredible moment of human connection and community and togetherness that nothing else in the world can do”, found on their Youtube.
